Operated plant and logistics, delivered in-house
Heighway Plant gives the Group full control of plant, transport, and site logistics. By owning and operating our own fleet – including heavy machinery, lifting equipment and cable handling vehicles – we reduce reliance on third parties, improve response times, and maintain tighter control over safety and scheduling.
Our in-house plant capability is a key reason why Heighway Group delivers with greater speed and consistency across complex energy infrastructure projects.

What we operate
Our plant fleet is managed by qualified professionals and kept to high operational standards. Equipment includes:
Excavators, dumpers, rollers and telehandlers
MEWPS and cable drum trailers
Crane lorries and specialist lifting equipment
Certified lifting personnel and Appointed Persons
On-site logistics coordination and movement planning
All machines are inspected, maintained, and operated by our in-house teams to ensure safety and reliability on every job.
Why go in-house for plant delivery?
Managing our own plant gives us major operational advantages – especially on projects where time, safety and sequence are critical.
By handling plant internally, we deliver a more dependable and responsive service – even on large or fast-moving projects.
Faster mobilisation and fewer external delays
Better integration with civils and M&E teams
Clearer cost control and scheduling certainty
Certified appointed person and lifting personnel
Collaboration with National Grid and IDNO/DNOs
